About the Financial Resources FCU Foundation

Financial Resources FCU Foundation organizes charitable events in support of charities and medical institutions that provide services to children. Over the past 19 years, the Credit Union and Foundation have raised almost $425,000. The Financial Resources FCU Foundation, Inc., is a tax-exempt charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

This year’s Foundation event raised $25,000 to benefit Parents Of Autistic Children (POAC).

Founded in 1999, POAC’s mission is to improve the lives of children and adults with autism by providing scientifically-based training to parents, teachers, and other direct service providers. POAC supports ongoing quality research on the causes of autism, its symptoms, prevention and a potential cure.

We’d like to recognize three organizations for their gracious and generous support of the Financial Resources FCU Foundation and Parents of Autistic Children. This is the fourth year that two of these outstanding organizations have supported us:

Lena Matthews (l), President & CEO of Financial Resources Federal Credit Union and Chairman of the Credit Union’s Foundation, and Kim Frey (c), Manager of Retail Operations for the Credit Union, present a check for $25,000 to Gary Weitzen, Executive Director of Parents of Autistic Children (POAC) at the Foundation’s annual charitable event held on Monday, May 9, 2011. It was Frey who recommended POAC as recipient of this year’s event proceeds. Kevin Buist, Senior Vice President Information Technology of Financial Resources, won the 50/50 but he generously donated his share of the $1,110 raffle to POAC.
